Not what I was looking for…
While I was looking for BID videos for This Weeks News, I came across a few surprising hits. When looking for Ray at Night, I found this video of what is literally, a ray at night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZtWbO70yDc. When I searched for La Jolla Restaurants, I enjoyed this video which, while filmed near a La Jolla Restaurant, has nothing to do with dining http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1G_5B6AqV8. Wanting to see what our local shops had to offer, I searched for San Diego Shops, and found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP08gpZwRvw. Yes, it is about San Diego and a shop, but not quite what I was looking for. I couldn’t search for a video about Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach without finding amazing beach and surf footage. My favorite was this video about the surf at Ocean Beach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xd31WPHiGus.
I found other things that I wasn’t looking for- there are a lot of YouTube videos that focus on the fires from last fall. There are also some that focus on unflattering events or things that don’t really have anything to do with the character of the neighborhood. Yet, they are there and, whether I was looking for them or not, I found them.
What have you found when searching for outside information regarding your neighborhood? What videos should I have found that I didn’t post here? And, how do you think the BIDs will use this type of marketing in the future?
